Resources for Learning at Home
For next week the usual school timetable will operate except there will be no early starts. For those attending school they will have their normal classroom teacher except in the case where their teacher is working from home. In this case they will still be providing work but they will be supervised by another teacher.
Email will be the primary means of communication used by Burnside SHS teachers during home learning. Students should be checking their school email regularly for instructions and feedback from their teachers.
Accessing Student Email
Students can access their email by logging in to www.office.com using their school email (their username @eq.edu.au) and their school password.
Then selecting 'Outlook' from the application ribbon
They can also use the shortcut on the Student Portal.
Accessing Student Portal
The Burnside SHS Student Portal is an online document library students may be directed to in order to access resources for home learning.
Students can access the student portal by logging in to https://qedu.sharepoint.com/sites/2145/StudentPortal with their school username and password.
Students can then select their year level from the left side of the page to access the resources for their subjects.
The newly-developed learning@home website, accessible via the Queensland Education website, is open to the public. It provides a range of activities to support students to continue their learning, as well as general advice and links to a range of high-quality public learning sites.
Two-week units of work for Prep to Year 10 across English, Mathematics, Science, HASS (History and Geography), Digital Technologies and Design and Technologies will also be available via this website. These materials will continue to be made available, with fortnight 2 uploaded by the end of the week. These units are available in a digital and print format. There are also additional resources for Senior Students.
